The PCR test identifies SARS-CoV-2 RNA detected in saliva, oral fluid, or a nasal swab. The test is
dependent on the virus being present in that body fluid and, therefore, may not detect it upon
immediate infection. The saliva PCR test kits are made in the United States.
Type of Test: Saliva PCR Test – Patients’ saliva specimens are collected via kits provided.
Method of Test: Conducted by a healthcare professional and sent to the laboratory for results.
Test Time: Results from the laboratory can take 48-72 hours once received.
