The Posterior Tibial Tendon Dysfunction orthoses (TPD) was designed by HealthyStep to provide immediate relief of this condition and should be fitted as soon as possible after symptoms start.
The TPD insole is:
- Extensively used in the UK by both the NHS and the British Armed services/forces.
- Used to manage a whole host of lower limb conditions associated with feet that excessively pronate (flatten) beyond what is normal or necessary.
The TPD insole is an orthotic device that brings the key features to control:
- Excessive pronation or foot flattening in the foot (also known as excess, hyper and over pronation).
- This particularly helps Posterior Tibial Tendon Dysfunction (PTTD), a severe cause of sudden or gradual arch drop.
- Posterior Tibial Tendon Dysfunction causes foot flattening on weight bearing, accompanied by pain around the inside of the ankle, arch and inside of the shin. It is caused by the failure of the tendon arising from the main arch supporting muscle of the foot.

Deep Heel Cup
The deep heel cup offers reassuring and effective control of the rearfoot. There is an extra anti-pronatory feature within the heel cup so the rearfoot is actively supported.

The midfoot saddle provides essential support and improves stability throughout gait.
Customization
Offering you customization options in addition to the key features with the use of the HealthyStep Evolve wedges to provide you additional control required to hyperpronation as and if required.
Natural flat feet that have not changed profile and have always looked flat won’t be helped by a TPD Insole, and will feel uncomfortable. If you have always had flat feet, but they are starting to ache use an X-Line Standard or X-Line Pressure Perfect (includes cushioning layer).
